So it's come to this.
The dreaded auto-response.
Anyone who's emailed me in the past few days has received a form letter back saying how I love hearing from you but I'm on deadline and I don't have the bandwidth to respond to every single email personally. I'm so sorry; it's such a douche move. I fully appreciate the only reason I have a deadline right now is because you guys read my books and I can't thank you enough... yet the time issue remains.
A lot of what I find in your emails are questions - about book tours, about what I'm writing next, about how my friends in NOLA are doing, about whatever happened to my rehabbing neighbor, etc. Until I get caught up, how about we split the difference? In the comments, feel free to ask whatever it is you've wanted to know and in a few days I'll post the answers to your most frequently asked questions.
Cool?
Until I'm back to posting more frequently, please check out the following:
Caprice - She's one of my favorite authors and now she's making short films. Visit her MySpace page to find out more about her books or watch Passing the Time. (Saw it yesterday and loved it!)
Jennifer C. - She's a big reason I'm on deadline right now, so stop by and say hey!
Brenda - Author of Monkey Love, one of my favorite books from last year. Monkey Star, her new book, is out now!
Ducky - Has somehow tapped directly into my brain to cover the best TV has to offer this summer.
Jezebel - If Gawker and The Superficial had a baby, it would be Jezebel. And she is beautiful... without airbrushing.
Thanks!

Here's my super important question: What do you think of September 21-23? It will involve (FREE) Wine.

Go Jen!!! Loved the first two books, so this one had BETTER live up to them. LOL! Just kidding...I'm sure it will be awesome! You know...a trilogy of Jen! You're hilarious and sound a lot like me ranting at this and that. I LOVED the post w/Maizy at the end saying "Fuck YOU Nike!". I had to save that to my desktop...when I'm cranky, Maize never ceases to make me laugh! And...she DOES look like she is telling Nike to Fuck Off!!! Oh, and "Fucktard" is now my new favorite thing to call all the random idiots I encouter in a day.

You should really drop in at dooce.com. She reminds me a lot of you and your style of writing. She's pretty hilarious.

I can't wait until book #3. I have bought "bitter" and "bright lights" for all of my girlfriends who need a good laugh. I think your a hoot!

Loved your books! Read the "Bitter" in two days and bought "Bright Lights" the same day I finished "Bitter" because I was already going through withdrawal by the last page...I am also obsessed with Big Brother and you have to check out Hamstertime.net for recaps, much better than anything else out there!! Can't wait for the new book....

I just finished your first book. My face hurts from grinning so much. Thank you for sharing your delightful wit and humor...I needed it!

So I've devoured "Bitter" and half of "Bright Lights" in less than 24 hours and just had to stop by and tell you that I think I have a crush on you. No. Seriously.
I'm starting to feel like a fangirl, so I'm just going to wish you luck with that deadline.

How's the personal trainer? Still looking like Mary-Kate? And can I buy you a drink when I'm in Chicago in October? :)

Wow, I've cracked the literary world - Jenn, thank you so much for the shout out and I for one would never mind a douchey auto-response from you. I love douchey, I prefer it!
Good luck with the deadline!

I love Ducky too! :) Can't wait for the new book. What was that book you recommended by your friend earlier this summer?

Quite fair and generous, Jen. We heart your writing.

We all know how important it is for you to finish your book. But my most urgent question is how are your friends in NOLA doing??? Any updates? Now get back to writing.

BIG fan of your books. Check out www.gofugyourself.typepad.com. Your kind of blog, and I mean that in the most sincere, not-at-all-snarky way.
