Is the editing process causing me to lose it?
I'm not sure.
However, I did just take a break for twenty minutes to explain to Fletch how I determined which of our dogs is a liberal (Maisy) and which one's a conservative (Loki.)
OK, maybe I'm losing it a little.
(And perhaps Fletch is regretting his decision to work from home today?)
"I'm not wearing a flag pin either, bitches."

You haven't really lost it until you've put your purse in the refrigerator, called your dog by your child's name (repeatedly and wondered why he wouldn't come), and stood before your front door pressing the unlock button on the car remote while swearing like a Marine because the door refused to open.
But if you're feeling like you are teetering on the edge of insanity...
Ambrose Bierce said a conservative is "a statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others."
So let's say Loki gets into the trash. Does Maisy say, "Enough of this nonsense," and find a pillow to shred? If Loki pees on the carpet, does Maisy join in, or does she decide it's time to uproot a few potted plants? Who decides first when it's time to shut oneself in the bathroom and slowly chew one's way out, thereby creating an initially mysterious pile of wood chips when you return from work? There's your answer!

I OFTEN leave the computer to remind Chris that harassing my cat, Oliver, is a hate crime. Because he is gay.

Hmmm....I think we need a breakdown of how you came to this insightful impression. Thankyouverymuch.

Not losing it... my best friend determined years ago which of his birds was a republican and which was a democrat. (has to do with liking trees or not)
Can't wait to hear how the dogs' loyalties lie. :)

I knew Maisy was my favorite! But are you sure Loki is a full fledged conservative? She seems more libertarian to me.

I *knew* Maisy and I would get along.

I was wondering, how did you determine your dogs political leanings? And what of those of the cats?

I always assumed Maisy would be a very conservative little beast...Loki always seems to look so laid back, and seems to give off more of a liberal vibe. Oh well, it just means Maisy won't go all Anne Coulter on Loki's behind!!
Either way, they're both adorable!

I won't even make the obvious joke about an intimidating liberal bitch. She's looking fierce.

I'm dying to know what makes Maisy a liberal and Loki a conservative! Do I have to wait to read it in your next book?
