New from the producers who brought you The Dog Who Wouldn't Poop Outside and The Red Light Runners comes the new film Jesus Christ, When Am I Going to Learn to Measure Width, Depth, AND Length When Buying Furniture, Part Three... now playing!
(In my bedroom.)

I can feel your pain with the big furniture in the small room - our house has the little rooms and the little closets (got to hate that) - heck - did they not have any clothes in the 60s when this house was built??? Chattanooga, TN would be a FINE place to have a book stop!!! We have a whole fan club for you at the school where I work. I am so excited about your new book!!! You go girl!!!

You should try arranging your furniture with software. A decent program will force you to take all dimensions into account and you can drag things around with your mouse before you put Fletch's back out.

Jen's new bed: purchased at Procrustes House of Fine Furniture. Fletch didn't want to lose any body parts.

I can top the horizontal pit bull & crazy cat--I woke up at my mother's on Thanksgiving morning at 5:00 am to the sounds of her cat eating a mouse at the foot of the bed--sounded like someone eating popcorn!

Hi enjoyed book very much. Hubby going on three years of job hunt crapola including humiliating experiences akin to yours at temp agencies. We aren't asshats. (he was a vp too) Just need some encouragement so as not to hit depression - opened a new website to try the self employment, really gorgeous home decor. Check for yourself and if you like please give us a plug? THANKS SO MUCH FOR INSPIRATION. Anyway did your mom really bake that cake. Gorgeous.

With me, it's curtains...they're too long and collect the dust bunnies, or they're too short and look like high waters on a poor nerdy child.
Measuring is hard.

I live in a house apparently left over from Munchin Land after they finished filming The Wizard of Oz. You can do what I did. I just learned to buy smaller versions of everything. Now, I don't have the "it's too big to fit" problem anymore, unless you count that the better half doesn't fit onto our bed. He's freakishly tall - but super cute!
(And if he ever reads this post I'm denying that I've ever even seen this site. It probably won't work as he knows I'm a huge fan of the books but you can't blame a girl for trying.)

Yes, I would like to chime in with the vote for pictures -- so we can have an absolute visual to associate!

We're looking to upgrade from our too-gross-for-words, bought-from-the-newspaper-for-$150-five-years-ago full size bed/mattress to a new queen set. (We're married and both working full-time now. We can afford this...right? :P)
I'm envisioning much the same issue, though it will be really nice having a mattress a: my feet don't hang off of, and b: I don't wince when I take the featherbed off of and look at it.

Rebecca - the IKEA bed is in the guest room. And TutuGirl, the bed fits but pretty much nothing else. Am in the process of rearranging right now.

We seem to have the same problem measuring at my house but for us it was blinds! And my husband is the Can't stop speeding and getting caught on photo radar type of guy!

Did I have a blonde moment? What happened to your ikea bed?
