Am writing this on my BlackBerry from the parking lot of the Home Depot. (Cannot deal with shopping for tools with Bob Fletcher Villa.)
Will this actually post? We'll see, provided he ever finishes shopping.
P.S. This message took 20 minutes to type. Apparently my fingers are HUGE.

My hubby is the same with Lowe's. He can spend HOURS there...I just don't understand what the appeal is. You can only look at plumbing, lumber and tools so much (me about 10-15 seconds), before they all start to blur. Congrats on using the time productively.

I have't received my book yet either. I ordered it from BN.com. Hopefully it will be here soon! As for posting from the parking lot, I have totally been there! I love my blackberry curve. I spend hours at baseball and soccer practices and games and swim meets. My "crackberry" is a life saver!

Posting or texting from my phone... way too frustrating and time consuming for me.
I can't wait to read your new book!

Time well spent while waiting for Fletch! When we were kids we played a game called "Here comes mom" while we waited in the car for her while she was shopping. The first one of the siblings to spy her coming out of the grocery store had to yell "here comes mom". Somehow this game helped time pass more quickly...well, we didn't have a crackberry, Nintendo DS, etc.
Can't wait to see you on Friday in Philly!!

I having been lusting after the Blackberry. And one day, I will have one.
Totally unrelated, but have you seen a Shot at Love with Tila Tequila (1 or 2 - yes, it's in its second season)? This show redefines bad/completely addictive reality TV.
Synopsis: Bi girl deciding if she's more gay or more straight by having 16 guys and 16 lesbians in her house fighting for her attention. Holy. Crap. Did I mention she's "looking for true love"?

I was once told that the Home Depot on North Avenue was a great place to go cruising for guys. Yes, cruising for guys with wives/girlfriends/boyfriends! I hate Home Depot due to all the couples there - it makes me feel as lonely as being the only single person at a wedding. Also, the comment about your fingers reminds me of Phyllis in "The Office" when Ryan gave them all Blackberries. "Wait, uh, how do you touch just one of these buttons at a time?"

I also received my shipping notification from Amazon today - with an estimated delivery date of this Friday, May 9th.
This SUCKS because I actually saw a WHOLE STACK of SAPF on the 'new paperbacks' table @ Borders (Broadway/Clark/Diversey location in Chicago)on Saturday, May 3rd.
I was under the impression that the book was to be released on Tuesday, May 6th. NICE... Jen? Comments?

I'm guessing you have the Blackberry Pearl, with the crazy querty keyboard? I couldn't deal with that and got the curve and it is totally the crackberry! But I have no idea how you can post/comment from the crackberry! I'll have to try it out- I have shoe shopped when waiting in the doctor's office- but couldn't get the order to go through- still, better to at least browse shoes than read old magazines!

What is it with men and Home Depot? My other half seems to forget that his only "training" in terms of home improvement involved watching his dad repair stuff BACK IN 1975 and that he cannot actually do anything without making it worse!
Can't wait to see you in Philadelphia on Friday... a coworker and I have been making everyone at work nuts as we talk about seeing you and classify comments as "That is SUCH a Jen Lancaster remark!" or not.
Posted by: Julie | May 04, 2008 at 05:59 PM
well this is the first time I've posted a comment on here NOT using my Crackberry....(well it's not TECHNICALLY a crackberry it's a Motorola Q9 but I don't really understand the differences....something about windows and word documents...I just say I have a crackberry!!!) Good job Jen....now you can leave blogs from ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!!!! I feel much safer now......

Is the crackberry a new toy, or is this just the first time posting from it?

Home Depot on a Sunday in Chicago -- you will the "good wife" award!

I love Home Depot. I drool over the carpeting and cabinetry and new fixtures. Mr. Hot can't get me out of there fast enough!
Posted by: Ree | May 04, 2008 at 04:25 PM
I'm debating if I buy the book before I leave for Philly or buy it when I go to the booksigning. Decisions decisions.
Fletch should absolutely take you shopping after subjecting you to Home Depot. And blogging from the BB does it easier.

Glad to see you're using your time wisely!
Very excited--I got my (your) book yesterday!! Have started it already & loving it!

Woman going to homedepot with a man = man having to buy woman diamonds as we suffer there.
