Today is Fletch's birthday and I've got lots to do to get ready for it.
And by "lots to do," I mean work on editing my new book.
Hey, what can I say? We're not really "birthday people." Now, instead of writing flowery prose about how much I love him and prattling on about how he's my soul mate and exactly why he's so full of the wow and the awesome, I'm going in a different direction. I'm going to pay tribute to him by posting clips to some of his favorite stuff.
If you're at work, I suggest you don't watch at full volume because apparently Fletch believes that profanity is the greatest gift of all.
Enjoy.

Idiocracy:
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back:
Rushmore:
No Cure for Cancer:

Happy 40th birthday, motherfucker!

Happy Fucking Birthday, Fletch!
Today was also my co-worker's 40th birthday...You don't strike me as the greasy, used-car-salesman type or I would question the coincidence further.
In any event, may you have a wonderful year; hopefully devoid of mold, rot, sinking and invasions.

Fletch,
How old are you in Jen years?
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE WHOLE ACCOUNT! :)

AWESOME taste in movies and a happy MO-FOin' birthday to Fletch.
Profanity is a way of life.
Jen can't wait for your next book, I blame my mother for this addiction. Seriously, she had out bright lights, big ass from our Library and I stole it and read it over and over again. It is now my bible. By the way, my mom had to return the book and put a new request in for it, cause I read it over and over, not giving her a chance to read it at all.

Happy F-in birthday again Fletch (I have no problem saying it but just can't bring myself to type it - I know - I need therapy!#
BTW Jen - tried Ben & Jerry's cheesecake Brownie today -and I must agree with you! It is awesome! I also bought peach cobbler to try too, I mean after all, they were on sale 2 for $6. I just HAD to buy two right?
Have a great rest of the day Fletch!
All of these movies are awesome, except not as easy to watch them with your 15 yr old son #LOL)
Cheers! I wil raise my pint of cheesecake brownie in your honor - assuming I can keep it away from my daughter!

Thanks for taking my mind off of the "political violation" of last night (I don't know that my ass will ever recover). I'm feeling utterly "helpless" and, as always, your blog is the bright spot of my day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FLETCH!!! XOXO THANK YOU for the role you play in letting your wife do what she does. All God's blessings to you both.

Best post ever.

My husband is obsessed with the movie Idiocracy--to the point where he forces innocent guests at our home to watch his favorite scenes. And then, if they don't laugh hysterically, he proceeds to attempt to educate them on the satirical value/meaning of the movie.
Is it any wonder our friends have kind of stopped coming over?
Also, good luck with the editing. I'm in the midst of editing my third book right now and holy hell, I think my soul has been sucked clean out of my body.

Happy Birthday to Fletch. And thanks for the clips- every time I see Jeff Bridges, I think of The Dude. Because The Dude abides. And that was particularly distressing during Iron Man. But I digress. Good assortment of clips. Thanks for sharing and happy writing!
