What Would Jen Do? She'd spend all afternoon yesterday giggling about your great answers!
As for today? She'd announce a winner.
I told Eileen the honor of selecting the winning entry was up to her as it's her book that started this whole thing. She picked the title of this post provided by Meg S. which is "What WOULDN'T I do?" because it make her laugh out loud.
However, there were so many clever entries that I've got a couple more books to award. The other two go to Ilana S. Harten for "What Would Michael Westen do?" because I just watched a Burn Notice marathon this weekend and love him even more than Jack Bauer and also to Blu_Canary for the Roald Dahl answer because it was so unique.
Honorable mentions (which means you get my undying admiration which is even better than a prize, yes?) go to entries on the Real Housewives, Michael Cera, Blair Warner, Christian Siriano, and Kevin Smith.
Meg S., Ilana, and Blu_Canary, please email me your addresses so I can send them. (And ignore the auto-response. I really do ready everything.)
Thanks to all of you!

Oh my god yes please! PLEASE do a blog post under the influence of ambien! Then you could write it down as a funny anecdote in one of your books and all of us who follow your blog will read it one day and we'll giggle and say "Yeah, I totally remember when she did that. It was SOOO funny!"

I just finished reading Bright Lights, Big Ass. I loved it!! I read Bitter first and next I'm reading Such a Pretty Fat. I can't wait for your fourth book to come out. You're so stinkin funny. We should be friends.

I am suprised you have not accidentally blogged while on ambien! Wouldn't that be a hoot!

I have no problems with ads as long as they're not the kind with dancing people or things in them. I hate those and refuse to do business with anything that has those annoying dancing idiots in them.
By the way, nice to see you posting often again. It was pretty dull around here without you.

OMG - you crack me up!

I love your stuff, Jen. You could even put up some Zoloft ads on the sight. We'd still love you.

Oh, man...I LOVE Burn Notice. I just noticed they have new episodes up!!
Damn! I'm not getting any work done tonight!

I'm all for the ads, too. I look forward to your posts all day.

Dear Paul Rudd,
Why didn't you win for me?
Love,
Chrissy
PS Why won't you love me?

Burn Notice is great! We caught a marathon on July 4 in Disney World. Yes, we laid in bed for hours watching tv when we were at Disney World. In our defense, we don't have children, we were on a family vacation, and we were exhausted.

Dearest Jen,
I usually check your site a couple of times a week. Now I'll check every day! It's great that you're posting more often. Thank you soooo much for bringing 'What Would Emma Do?' to my attention. I'm ordering it today for my daughter, Emma. This book sounds like it was written for and about her. I'm always looking for new books for her as so much of the YA stuff is total crap she's not interested in. She's 13 and a VERY avid reader. She's completely hooked on the Twilight series, having read and reread the books many times, ( I couldn't hang - Bella's too whiney in the first book for me). Congrats to the contest winners and thanks for making me laugh.

Thanks for the honourable mention! You're right, Jen...undying admiration from you IS better than winning the book. I just KNEW that someday my unhealthy obsession with Project Runway would useful! Oh, and about the book? I'll be buying it anyway - $7 on amazon!

Dear Michael Cera,
Thank you for winning the admiration of Jen Lancaster for me. I would award you my heart as your prize, but you won that long ago when you called yourself Mr. Manager and giggled awkwardly.
Fondly,
Melissa
PS - In case anyone is interested, I actually was on the SAME PLANE as Michael Cera from LA to Toronto in November and wrote up a blog post about it (complete with pictures, naturally) at my site. Link below. :)

I opened up my Shelf Awareness publishing newsletter this morning, and much to my surprise (and delight) I see that the book buyer of Costco is recommending Such A Pretty Fat as the January pick. Congratulations! It is such a wonderful book and very well deserved.

All I kept picturing in my head when you posted the "What would Jesus do?" contest was a mexican guy named Jesus (hey sus?). I came with a lot of things he could do but none of them were PC ...

Sorry I should have clarified. That site listed is for Housewives fans.

Housewives tonight, Jen!
And one of your readers posted this site:
http://prettyontheoutside.typepad.com/gilmore/
Thank you! I contacted the writer of this blog to see if I could use his sketches on a blog of my own and link his (yes, it's a HE writing this blog) blog through the blog entry. He was warm and friendly, and the guy has talent.
I hope you checked it out. I sent all my friends there because I was cracking up from the drawings, and the blog content makes you laugh too.

I agree with Jewell about the ads.
Posted by: Linnea | January 06, 2009 at 07:36 PM
Jen, I just wanted to let you know what my husband said after I told him that you selected the Michael Westen entry as your favorite...and I quote, "My respect level for her just went from high to ridiculous."
That's pretty damn special because my husband doesn't ever say stuff like that!
I thought you'd like to know.
Congrats to Ilana! (I'm sure my husband's respect level for you just went up, too!)

If anyone can bring back the stonewash- it would be you.
Loved reading all the answers.
Posted by: Eileen Cook | January 06, 2009 at 06:33 PM
I agree Jewell.
I'm just hoping they're not the flashy, annoying, can't stand it, type of ads.
Posted by: LindaS. | January 06, 2009 at 05:31 PM
Congrats to the winners!
Posted by: goodfather | January 06, 2009 at 04:59 PM
