The Prom II post is coming, but I might not get it up until later as I have a whirlwind day full of exciting stuff like seeing the dentist and eye doctor and buying dirt at Home Depot.
For now, perhaps you'll enjoy this?

Is it wrong that I've never even heard of Lacoste?????
Love you and your books though. Wish you were coming a little closer to South Texas!!!

I can't wait for the book to come out. I have already taken the day off from work, to sit in my pearls, collared Lacoste and chinos and read it all day.

You? Are totally awesome.
And Fletch? Your closet looks fantastic :-)
Posted by: Elisa | April 09, 2009 at 03:04 PM
YOU. ROCK.!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Fletch is pretty awesome, too.

Hooray Pi Phi!!!!!

This was cute. Love what looks like Pledge, being sprayed on the floor.

I loved the 80's best because that is when I had my two babies who became my best friends.

"It's called being organized.... bins.... bins!!!" Hilarious!!
Also, loved the special appearances of Stacey and Maisy!

That was awesome! My closet is like Fletch's...but it's filled with things like your's! Like you I find something I like and get every color available...hey, if it works right!?!
Posted by: Nicole | April 09, 2009 at 01:28 PM
Maybe if you're really lucky the Lacoste people will see this and send you some?
Posted by: daisy | April 09, 2009 at 01:17 PM
OMG that was fun & crazy and totally perfect for a Friday!
How many Barbie heads do you have in there???
Posted by: paperdiva | April 09, 2009 at 01:10 PM
love these visual snipits into your life!! wish you were coming closer to Omaha so I could actually see you :(
Posted by: Trisha | April 09, 2009 at 12:55 PM
LOL - I love the Barbie head in the background - is that from the drunken online purchase you talk about in the book?! :) Loved peekign into your closet, but seeing Maisy's cameo was my fav! :)

Great video Jen! Looking forward to meeting you in Atlanta next month!
Posted by: Angie | April 09, 2009 at 12:54 PM
This seriously made my day. Counting the days until the release!

Love Fletch's closet, but the lack of color is a little unnerving. I do believe that you can have the tidy with the Lacoste. One of my life mottos is "If the shoe fits, buy it in every color." Sadly, I follow that rule in every aspect of my wardrobe. Glad to see I am not alone. See you in May in Huntington Beach!

LOL - liz, I thought the same thing. I kept waiting for it to cut to Clinton & Stacey cringing and wailing over the multiple plaid sweaters and Lacoste shirts in a rainbow of colors.
Fun video. :)

I actually don't have a single Lacoste shirt, so I second the person who said you should come to Philly on book tour, and then I will have to acquire one, clearly, to wear to your signing. (And if I buy it at Philly's new Lacoste store, I will be supporting my local economy!) :)
Posted by: Jenn | April 09, 2009 at 11:58 AM
BTW - Can I just admit how big of a geek I am that you chose May 15th to highlight as a busy day? I am in Atlanta, and am eagerly counting down to that day! I even told my travel-happy boss that I HAVE to be in town that day because you were coming.
Oh. BTW, I am NOT a stalker. I swear. Just a very devoted fan!!
Posted by: Heather | April 09, 2009 at 11:58 AM
I definitely adhere to the several colors theory - Gap/Old Navy/Target are my staples.
Posted by: Kristen | April 09, 2009 at 11:51 AM
Boldly going where the rest of us are too repressed to admit... LOVE IT!
Did anyone else learn the "if one is good, get it in many colors" from their mom too? Cuz I still do it :) and Lane Bryant loves me for it :)
Gotta say, I envy Fletch's closet system though-- makes all your clothes look like they're in the store still :)
Counting down till Chicago!

I see you kept the infamous Barbie heads!!!
Posted by: amy g | April 09, 2009 at 11:38 AM
Words cannot describe the rollercoaster of emotions this caused for me. Thanks for waking me up this morning. :)

All I have to say is, I love you! (and if you ever find your way to Houston when I'm not stuck in (&$W^#&(@#$ Louisiana, take me shopping!)
Posted by: Susan | April 09, 2009 at 11:33 AM
I was hoping you'd wear the Lacoste shirt you made for that one party --- where you had the two aligators humping!
Posted by: JRM | April 09, 2009 at 11:28 AM
I didn't think it was possible to adore you more, but that video may have done it! I love it.

Love, love the drug induced Barbie head purchase featured so prominently in the background.
Posted by: Kristen | April 09, 2009 at 11:14 AM
Weeeelllll, Lacoste recently opened a store here in PHILADELPHIA! Why not come visit during the book tour???? BTW, your Ambien-infused Barbie big-head looks much like the one that my 15 year old got when she was about 9 and that my 6 year old now enjoys as well. Needless to say, yours is in much better condition!
Posted by: Gayle | April 09, 2009 at 11:14 AM
Ok, now I don't feel like a crazy person for buying the same clothing items in multiple colors all the time. Thanks!
Posted by: Suziannie | April 09, 2009 at 11:09 AM
I love the homage to Alley Sheedy dancing!
Cannot wait to come see you in DC (which is right after work, which means business suit and not eighties attire. sigh)

How cute was that?!?! I can't wait for the book... and I'm wondering if Fletch would be interested in starting some sort of organized closet service... I could really use his help.
Posted by: Ally B | April 09, 2009 at 11:01 AM
My closet almost mirrors your, Jen! I believe Plaid should be worn on an almost daily basis. a
Posted by: Andrea | April 09, 2009 at 10:56 AM
damn that was funny!
Posted by: michele | April 09, 2009 at 10:46 AM
I have the exact same Holiday Barbie. I'm going to be 40 this year and my mom still buys me a Barbie every year for Christmas. NO, I WON'T grow up! :)
Posted by: T | April 09, 2009 at 10:45 AM
Fletch's closet makes me want to throw a neon t-shirt or a Santa Claus tie in there just to see his reaction.
Posted by: Stacey | April 09, 2009 at 10:12 AM
I like Fletch's system. Sorry, I'm anal. But your clothes are much prettier!
Posted by: Shannon | April 09, 2009 at 10:10 AM
I loved the Pledge to slick the floor! And I'm so glad they included the pooch! Thanks for sharing this and for doing what you do.

...sorry, Lacoste. Lacrosse I fully support, especially the shorts.
Posted by: Jodie Kash | April 09, 2009 at 10:09 AM
Yeah, love the writing and the funny (serious, you inspire my writing some), but I’d so mock the LaCrosse. It's little alligators.
Posted by: Jodie Kash | April 09, 2009 at 10:07 AM
Makes me want to go out and buy more polo shirts!
And could Fletch's closet BE any more boring? Organied and manly, yes. But bo-ring!
Posted by: Missy | April 09, 2009 at 10:00 AM
I love the video, it's even better than the one you made for 'Such a Pretty Fat'.
And since it's Holy Thursday, I've got a confession...watching that video, I've got a mad crush on Fletch! Does he have a twin?
Posted by: Suzanne | April 09, 2009 at 10:00 AM
best. vid. ever.
(love seeing the Barbie head sitting in the back there)
Posted by: Yv- | April 09, 2009 at 09:59 AM
Don't take this the wrong way...is this a video interview to be on WNTW?
Posted by: liz | April 09, 2009 at 09:57 AM
I loved the 80s because instead of being "hot," they were "totally rad" and my blue eyeliner and side ponytail proves it.
Posted by: Kim | April 09, 2009 at 09:53 AM
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one with a uniform. Mine, however, includes all colors of J. Crew shorts and shirts in the same style. Coincidence that I have their plaitnum card? I think not. Can't wait for the book and for you to come to Houston!
Posted by: Leah | April 09, 2009 at 09:51 AM
So cute!! BTW, I have a cardigan exactly like that white argyle one... except it's green. and blue. ok, so maybe not 'exactly' but, you get the idea!
Posted by: Heather | April 09, 2009 at 09:48 AM
Loved the video!!!! Can't wait to read your next book and hope you are working on another :-) As soon as I finish your books-I want MORE!!!!!!
Posted by: Dawn | April 09, 2009 at 09:47 AM
Wish I had that much plaid in my closet! :)
